Emergency Ebola Response to the St. John of God Catholic Hospital, Lunsar
At the start of the Ebola outbreak, the association, together with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Germany, Honorable Jongopie Stevens, supported the St. John of God Catholic Hospital in Lunsar. The 1st chairmain of the association visited the hospital in his capacity as Honorary Consul for the Republic of Sierra Leone in Bavaria in 2013, at the instigation of a Bavarian medical group. Since then, there has been constant contact between the honorary consul and the management of the hospital.
A total of three palettes of assorted urgently needed medical supplies have been delivered to the hospital through the above mentioned Bavarian doctors operating in Sierra Leone. A special thanks to the Munich University Hospital, Klinikum der Universität München, Großhadern, who made this donation possible.
